Glam Collective

Woah! sexy mamas getting a lesson in looking even sexier, could this be true?  Oh yes, today a group of super yummy mummies headed over to City and Arts Music Project (CAMP) in Old Street for a makeup "cookalong" with the lovely ladies from The Glam Collective. Designed to be an interactive session where babies watched mamas get glammed up with a super tutorial in applying foundation to look natural, bronzer application and the elusive "smoky eye," these lush mamas were spoilt with attention, perfect pampering for a Tuesday morning!

Hush Little Baby

I am not a huge fan of pop music, but this song has totally touched me... Wretch 32 and Ed Sheeran waxing lyrical about the tough decisions facing reluctant fathers. With a perfectly tuned video to match, where the father to be imagines his life for the next 50 years hinging on the decision to be made about keeping the child, this one has made me realise that being a parent is complicated, challenging and overwhelming at the best of times, especially for men. But the rewards will always outweigh the challenges on any given day... Loving the song!

Check out the video here:

The Dictator

I am generally not a huge fan of Sacha Baron Cohen's movies, especially after Ali G in the House (I make an exception for Borat), so I was reluctantly dragged along to the Hackney Picturehouse by my gorgeous gf AA and her little princess for a mama and baby screening of The Dictator. Perhaps it was the excitement of being in a movie theatre with Baby M, the huge screen, or the particularly funky picturehouse venue, but I was delighted by the crassness and hilarity of the Dictator. Perhaps my sense of humour has changed along with post partum hormones, but it was genuinely a good giggle! Watch out for the hilarious helicopter scene! Political satire anyone?

Being a mama doesnt mean that you have to stop being glamourous...

I am a firm believer in looking after yourself as much as you dedicate yourself to your baby. Its true, it will involve a little bit of extra time and preparation, but its about using what you already know and making the best of it. Anyway, a happy lush mama means a happy lush baby, my baby makes me want to be a better person, so on that note, I'm going to go and kiss my little baby hello :))

I use this old scarf as my favourite muslin....

This is my nappy changing bag....

Jimmy Choo and Baby feet...

Good sunglasses and funky jewellery hide all sins

Hot pink lipstick is still my killer...

I declare today to be a maxi dress day...!!

I love you baby M for making me a lush mama :)

Story Deli- Lush Shoreditch find

Soo everyone thinks that the best pizza's in Shoreditch can be found at Pizza East right? WRONG!!

My new super awesome, super sexy glamourous, super lush venue is Story Deli on Redchurch Street. They make the most enormous pizzas with the thinnest crispiest base and generous toppings, in the most beautiful venue you have ever seen. I could easily lose myself in Story Deli all afternoon planning my next adventure or dreaming of new ideas- This place is an inspiration!

Guess where we are going today!

Hackney city farm!!

The last time I went to a farm, I was 7 years old and I managed to be chased by a turkey! So I have finally mustered up the courage (20 years later) to visit my city farm with baby- Bonus that its my friend's 6 year old's birthday party, so we will have special access to pat the animals. BUT I will be doing everything I can to keep my 3 month old away from any psycho turkeys. (SEE EXHIBIT A BELOW).... **shudder**

Rain rain go away...

I woke up this morning so excited to be able to take baby with me to a baby movement class at the Richmix in Shoreditch. (http://www.richmix.org.uk/whats-on/event/wiggly-jigglers/)

With the name, "wiggly jigglers", the class sounded a bit rude to my adult ears, but definitely up baby's street with creative movement playtime. Unfortunately, its raining. And I don't feel like lugging the pram through puddles. So we decided to make some chocolate cupcakes with yellow buttercream icing and white chocolate sprinkles. See you later diet.....:)))

Sleep deprivation

My little baby has decided he doesn't believe in sleeping. He only believes in eating. TWENTY-FOUR-SEVEN. So since mummy is now a 24 hour McDonalds, I am thinking back to those long lost crazy days when I had the ability check into some glam hotels for a cheeky weekend away. Here are some of my favourites:

(I am seriously thinking of checking into one of these by myself just to GET SOME SLEEP!)

Blakes Hotel (Beautiful, lush London escapism with 4 poster beds and the best room service in all of London)

The Scarlet Hotel- Mawgan Porth Cornwall (YES thats really a hot tub on the beach!)
